Type: Colombia. Boyacá: epiphytic in forest between Arcabuco and Moniquirá, alt. 2300-2600 m, 1976, collected by P. García, cultivated by Sra. Bertha de Laserna, flowered in cultivation by M. & O. Robledo at La Cega, 9 Oct 1977, R. Escobar 1817, (holotype, JAUM, clonotype, SEL).
